When a relationship breaks down and you have been living together in a rental property, making arrangements to break the lease or for someone to come off it can be difficult.
It can be a financially stressful time, working out how to afford to pay rent on one income and also potentially looking to secure a new rental property.
There may also be safety considerations to plan for if you have experienced or are experiencing family violence.
In this episode we are going to talk about what happens with your lease when your relationship ends and how to set yourself up to move forward.

Quick money is relatively easy to access, and is sometimes used by people to afford daily living expenses or to avoid defaulting on larger loans. In episode two we discuss fast money and figure out “what’s the catch?”.
With more Australians turning to “quick money”, our experts are here to give some practical guidance to help people avoid being taken advantage of, and to provide handy tips to help people protect their rights when accessing fast money. They also discuss the pros and cons of consumer leases, assessing what to include in the overall cost, and what happens to the leased item at the end of the lease period.

To make matters worse, many landlords are making the most of the current market conditions and raising rents, in some cases by a significant amount.
In this episode we are going to talk about what to do if your landlord gives you notice of an increase in your rent that you cannot afford to pay. We will also discuss what to do if you get behind on your rent and other payments.
