Episode 1: Help! I can’t find a rental!
Monday Aug 12, 2024
Monday Aug 12, 2024
The rental market in WA is extremely tight at the moment, with vacancy rates in Perth at below one percent, and below 1.5 percent in the regional WA.
There has been a consistent decline in the number of rental properties available, combined with an increase in demand, particularly since COVID border restrictions were removed.
These conditions are fuelling increased prices, so it’s tough to find a property to rent at all and even harder to find one you can afford.
If you’ve found yourself looking for a place to rent in the current market, it’s understandably a pretty stressful situation to be in, but you’re not alone.

Tuesday Aug 13, 2024
Tuesday Aug 13, 2024
In our last episode we talked about how difficult it can be to find a rental property in the current market.
Unfortunately there are some people out there using these conditions to take advantage of tenants, and there also seem to be scams popping up targeting people looking to rent a property.
In this episode we are going to talk about how to avoid getting scammed or taken advantage of.

Episode 3: How do I stay in my rental property?
Wednesday Aug 14, 2024
Wednesday Aug 14, 2024
When you are renting, there are lots of issues that can give rise to disputes with your landlord –disagreements about repairs, rent increases or modifications to name a few.
In the first few episodes of this series we’ve talked about some of the pressures in the rental market at the moment, so before you throw in the towel and start looking for a new place, you may be better off getting help to negotiate a solution with your existing landlord.
In this episode we are going to talk about how you can do that, as well as how to avoid some of the most common issues arising in the first place.
